Styling a Kid's Bedroom

Have you always wanted to create a fun and stylish bedroom for your child but don't know where to start?

Creating a stylish bedroom for your child can be a fun experience. When you learn the tricks of the trade it can be easy to create a space that your child will love to spend time relaxing and playing in.

1. Nooks

Creating a reading nook or resting place gives your child a different place to relax in, rather than just on their bed. You can create a fun and inviting nook by placing some bean bags or a range of bright coloured, large and comfortable cushions in the corner of their bedroom. If you have enough space, you can make it even cosier by placing a teepee, play tent or hanging net in the corner. These pieces make the nook more inviting and help to create a relaxing environment.

2. Bed

The bed and bed linen is the predominate feature in children's bedrooms. Make it stand out by purchasing a bed the fits in with the theme and is also comfortable. Add decorative bed linen and mix or match some fun themed cushions and toys. They will love curling up in bed amongst the cushions and with their favourite toys.

3. Bookshelf

Create a love for reading early on by having a bookshelf in your child's bedroom. You can make your child's favourite books a feature of the room. Display the covers of the books with beautiful illustrations and then stack the rest of the books and decorate using fun bookends to keep them in place. Change the books on display regularly to encourage your child to read a variety of books.

4. Storage

Storage is essential in kid's bedrooms. Choose storage that fits in well with the colours and theme of your child's bedroom. Storage doesn't have to be boring either. You can decorate drawers by displaying your child's favourite toys on top. You can also add a few inspirational or decorative framed prints on top to tie it into the theme of the room.

5. Toy box or basket

Toy boxes or baskets are essential storage pieces for kid's bedrooms. Don't opt for boring boxes or baskets; make a statement by using on trend baskets or coloured boxes. Your child will love being able to easily access their toys for play time and it makes it easier for them to keep their room tidy by keeping them stored in the one place.
